Porcelain
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, ceramic shells
that are custom colored and shaped before being bonded to
your natural teeth with dental cement. The process to create
and apply them is relatively simple and begins when you schedule
your complimentary consultation with One of our doctors.
- During your first visit, our staff will
take a mold of your teeth that will be used by our dental
team to plan your custom veneers.
- On your second visit, our doctors will
prepare your natural teeth by gently shaping your natural
teeth to accept the porcelain veneers. Temporary veneers
are placed on your teeth while the permanent veneers are
fabricated by our lab, the result is a natural beautiful
smile that will last for years.
- On your 3rd visit the veneers are fit to
your teeth, and when both he and you are satisfied with
how they look and feel, he'll bond the permanent veneers.
The porcelain veneers will feel, look and
function just as your natural teeth do.
What is porcelain?
Porcelain is a glass like substance, that,
when bonded to your teeth, porcelain becomes very hard and
durable, and like glass, very stain-resistant.
Dental porcelain looks very much like natural
tooth enamel. Why? Because it’s translucent. Light passes
through it to the bonding material beneath it, and reflects
back. In the same way, light passes through tooth enamel to
the dentin layer beneath it, and reflects back. In both cases,
the result is a pearly sheen.
