Tooth Bridges
Oakland, San Francisco
"I had been to many dental offices and I was concerned about being able to afford the care that I really needed. I had tried the low cost clinic but was turned off by the impersonal and run down, low quality look of the facility. When I finally found out about San Pablo Dental Care, and their affordable high quality care, I was relieved that I could get the dental care I needed without compromising the quality. They made it very affordable to me. They have monthly payment plans and their fees were very fair."

If you have several missing teeth a dental implant can be placed to support a permanent bridge to replace those teeth. Dental bridges are false teeth, also called 'pontics,' that are suspended in the gap between neighboring teeth on either side.
Advantages of implant-supported bridges
Traditional bridges are still an option, but there are advantages to having your bridge supported by an implant:
- No support is needed from neighboring teeth
- No grinding on other teeth
- The missing tooth roots are replaced by the implants, so that no deterioration is likely to happen in the jawbone
- There'll be no gum recession as can happen with fixed traditional bridges, and no inconvenience as with removable partial dentures
- The implant support is very firm, giving you new teeth that feel, look, and function like your natural teeth
How is it done?
- The implants are placed during your first visit, and several months are allowed to pass while the bone grows snugly around them. You can wear temporary teeth during this period. The number of implants will depend on how many gaps are being filled, and where they are.
- Also during this period, your bridge is constructed, with natural-looking porcelain teeth and customized to exactly fit the space left by your missing teeth.
- In the second visit, the bridge is attached to the implants.
Now you have new teeth that look, feel, and function just like your other teeth. There'll be no bone loss, you'll be comfortable and confident, and you'll be able to eat your favorite foods.
