Children's
Dentistry
A lifetime of good dental health starts with
proper care and instruction at an early age. In addition to
developing healthy at-home dental hygiene techniques, at San
Pablo Dental Care we offer a two-tiered plan for young patients.
A Good Introduction
Your child should have his or her first dental
appointment around the age of three, or earlier in some cases.
This is when one of our excellent doctors will be able to
identify any baby-tooth decay, and evaluate your child's overall
dental health. After that, your child should see the dentist
every six months for professional cleaning. We understand
that a child's first time at the dentist can be anxiety-provoking,
which is why our doctors treat each young patient (and nervous
parent) with "kid gloves," ensuring a worry-free, educational
environment.
Two preventive measures
Young teeth need more preventive care than
adult teeth.
- Sealants
Sealants invisibly coat the surface of the teeth, filling
in tiny crevices and cracks that could otherwise become
a home to cavities. They also help protect against damage
from plaque and acids.
- Fluoride
Fluoride is a naturally occurring element that strengths
the enamel when applied to teeth. It is painlessly and comfortably
applied with special care in a short time.

and fluoride treatments.
